Warehouse Shipping Associate

Position: Full-Time

Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Warehouse Shipping Associate to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing the flow of products and materials in our warehouse, ensuring accurate and timely shipping and receiving processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven working experience as a warehouse worker or shipping associate.
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Current forklift license or certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management.

Bookstore Associate

Position: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding books based on their interests and preferences.
  • Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers regarding book recommendations, availability, and pricing.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person, over the phone, online, and via email, providing accurate information and resolving any issues or concerns.

Sales and Transactions:

  • Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using the bookstore’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods, ensuring compliance with cash handling procedures.
  • Promote special offers, discounts, and promotions to encourage sales and enhance customer experience.

Inventory/Shipping Management:

  • Assist with receiving, unpacking, and shelving new inventory shipments.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels and identify any discrepancies.
  • Help maintain organized and visually appealing displays to showcase featured books and merchandise.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations, including order picking, packing, and shipping of products.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders, including order verification, packaging, and label printing.
  • Coordinate with the shipping department, carriers and logistics partners to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve any shipping issues or delays.
  • Implement best practices for packaging, labeling, and shipping to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain shipping procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with shipping regulations and requirements.

Bookstore Operations:

  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including preparing the store for daily operations and securing the premises at the end of the day.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies such as shopping bags, receipt paper, and promotional materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with bookstore management to implement sales strategies and achieve sales targets.

General Maintenance:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the bookstore, including shelving units, display areas, and customer seating areas.
  • Notify management of any maintenance issues or safety concerns that require attention.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or a bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Passion for books and literature with knowledge of popular authors, genres, and titles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions and handling inventory.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
