BOLINGBROOK, IL — On Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, Al-Furqaan Foundation proudly announced that Dr. Mustafa Khattab, renowned author and translator of The Clear Quran®, has joined the organization as a resident scholar of Al-Furqaan Foundation. In his new role, Dr. Khattab will handle all religious matters of the Foundation. Additionally, he will serve as a khatib (lecturer), and guest speaker for masajid and conventions across the U.S. and Canada, bringing his extensive knowledge and expertise to communities nationwide.

Dr. Khattab’s The Clear Quran has already made a monumental impact, around four million distributions. His expertise will now benefit communities nationwide, marking the beginning of many exciting new projects at Al-Furqaan Foundation.

Dr. Khattab’s work has been instrumental in spreading the message of the Quran in clear and contemporary English. His role as a resident scholar will enhance Al-Furqaan Foundation’s national outreach programs and foster greater engagement with the Quran’s teachings across the United States. Communities nationwide can now directly benefit from his scholarship and participate in the new initiatives spearheaded by Dr. Khattab.

MUSTAFA KHATTAB’S BACKGROUND

Dr. Mustafa Khattab, a Canadian-Egyptian scholar, is the distinguished translator of The Clear Quran® series, known for its eloquent and precise rendition of the Quranic text. He has memorized the Quran from a young age and holds a Ph.D. from Al-Azhar University. Dr. Khattab has contributed significantly to Islamic scholarship through his works and teaching roles in the U.S. and Canada. His expertise and dedication have made The Clear Quran® a highly acclaimed translation among readers and scholars alike.

Dr. Khattab was also part of the pioneering team that translated Ramadhan night prayers live from Mecca and Medina. He has lectured at Clemson University and served as an Imam in various communities. Other notable works include “The Nation of Islam” and contributions to the “Encyclopedia of Muslim American History.” His profound understanding of Islamic theology and his commitment to accessible Quranic education make him a highly respected figure in the field.
