Masjid Furqaan is seeking a dynamic, approachable, and community-oriented Imam to serve as a religious leader and community builder. We are looking for someone who understands the cultural landscape of American Muslim communities, and can effectively connect with youth, families, students, and working professionals.
The ideal candidate is energetic, socially engaging, and passionate about strengthening faith, unity, and participation within the community. This individual must be accessible, relatable, and capable of inspiring increased engagement across all segments of the community.
Key Responsibilities
Religious Leadership and Building Engagement
Deliver Jumu’ah khutbahs and lead congregational prayers (especially Fajr and Isha)
Organize halaqas, classes, workshops, and Ramadan programming
Officiate marriages and funerals; provide counseling
Support Sunday School and other educational initiatives
Guide and support Youth Committee and MSA leadership
Provide spiritual counseling and leadership development
Foster increased participation in community programs
Community Development
Build relationships with local officials, interfaith groups, and university leadership
Represent Masjid Furqaan in outreach programs and public forums
Support community service initiatives
Engage families, converts, and professionals through mentorship and programming
Organizational Leadership
Help shape long-term religious and community vision
Pursue continuing education and professional development
Qualifications
Degree from accredited college or university in Islamic studies.
Strong grounding in Qur’an, Hadith, and Fiqh
Excellent English communication and khutbah delivery skills
Experience working with youth and college students
Cultural fluency within American Muslim communities
